      1. What is your realistic business goal? Write it down. Use the business plan example from the NLP Trainer’s Training. Think of what you want to achieve and where do you want to be in a year, then what do you need to do in 6 months to achieve that, then where do you need to be and what you need to do in 3 months, in one month and then weekly. make sure the goal is realistic, achievable, etc. Run it through Goals to an Achievable Outcome from your NLP Practitioner Training and then through the SMART goals setting from your Time Line Therapy® Practitioner Manual. Be honest with yourself. You don’t have to start out grandiose, or you can, if realistically you think you can achieve it. Smaller and more achievable goals are OK as long as you will achieve them.

Then ask yourself, “Where do my business goals fit in the greater scheme of my family, community and all things on planet earth?” If you want to play a role that’s meaningful in leaving a positive mark on this planet and not only for your material or even spiritual self-interests but in the greater scheme of things, you need to fit your business into a greater meaning and purpose. Find that greater purpose and make sure your business is aligned with other similar people in the same morphogenic filed. (example: Transform the Planet and The Tad James Co.). Write down your business goal(s) and the greater picture in which it fits.
      2. Elicit and hierarchy your business values and make sure they support your goals.

Hi everyone! What an awesome platform this is for us all to connect on. Very excited to see it grow 🙂
I have a question, Do we need to elicit the complex equivalents for each of the values?

    • #1289
      Adriana James
      Keymaster

Hi Fini. Welcome to the forum. Yes, if you want to have a comprehensive and thorough values alignment so that your values support your goals, then you need to write down all the CEs (Complex equivalents) for each value. So, you ask yourself for each value “What does this value mean to me?” and the write down all the things you can think of that that value represents to you. This is info from you to you – and it will surprise you! So you actually discover not only the big abstract value itself, but also the details of HOW that value is accomplished or fulfilled based on your personal interpretation of that word. I hope this makes sense. If you need more info, please let me know.

Yes this makes perfect sense, thank you. I can see how it would create a much stronger and more compelling value alignment and result in reaching the goals.

Welcome all Master Trainer students worldwide to Project No. 1 !
Cameron, you bring up a great point about staying involved. This forum is designed to help you get your business goals step by step while also having support from Adriana, me, and all of your fellow colleagues involved in this forum. As more and more people post their ideas and suggestions we can choose to implement new ideas and strategies of achieving our goals more easily. Plus this is a really fun way of keeping ourselves accountable and staying connected to our greater purpose.

Thanks for breaking what we already know into bite size pieces… Its interesting being more aware of how I can do overwhelm easily, so having this platform to assist in breaking it down and realising what needs to be done weekly and daily is great!!!
      Also creating some great accountability.
All we have to do is stay involved

Hey Cameron, welcome to the forum. Yes, you’re correct. This is the intention to break down the big picture into small bite-size pieces, so it become manageable and doable. We’ll do it together, step by step. But, as you say, the accountability is on you, to follow the plan, the steps, and we’ll get you to where you want to be, because you want to be the very best. Keep asking questions if you are unclear at every step. We are now developing the app for the forum and this will make it even easier for you to get notifications when people post, to exchange ideas and to ask questions at every step when you feel you don’t know how to proceed. We are here for you all.

      Cameron, right there with you.
I am happy to get it in pieces.

Adriana, it is an honor to be connected to you directly via this forum.

Step # 1 for me is to actually create that big picture. In the past I have never done that. Talk about breaking the mold! Yes!!!

Laura, Hi sis, love you! Glad you are here too ?

Hi Aaron, good to see you here. To answer your question, yes it is the big picture to start with, and to chunk down into small steps (this is why the business plan starts from a year, to 6 months, to 3 months…etc). The same is also true for values. You elicit them first, and then chunk down into excitation of CEq for each value. As they say, most of the time the devil is in the details. So paying attention to all these steps becomes incredibly important. Do this project, next week we have a new one! ?

Thank you for creating the platform to take us step by step through the process! I would like to understand better if the scope for this 1st project is to also make us think and identify value drivers and decision strategy of our ideal clients as mentioned in the Business Plan you are advising us to follow or if this will be tackled in a different project. Also what specific advertising & marketing campaigns we should think of especially for the 1st month. Again, if this is a different project, then I”ll be patient :). Thank you!

Hi Crisitna, Not yet! We’ll get to the decision making strategy for preferred clients and networking and closing and many other things, and marketing…..step by step. For the moment do this project and do it thoroughly. If you do, it will reveal to you what are you moving toward and what is really important to you as well as what the words that you use as values mean. Of course you can also let go of the “away from” in values if you find away forms in there. Most impatient is the question: are your values in business good for business? A hierarchy containing hmmm… As an example love, friendship, teamwork and smiles is not really conducive for results in business…. If you get what I mean. So, the question is WHAT values are there, and are they supporting a good and successful business development? That’s the most important question which this project should answer. If you have questions about your values, and what values are conducive to success in business, ask it here. This is a sharing platform. There is no right or wrong, it is a learning curve from shared experience…so we all learn and support each other.

I love the focus of aligning set goals to our personal values, I see this as certainly ensuring our goals are realistic driven by our values. Having a back ground in strategic management, it has always been just based on setting goals against set outcomes or KPI’s. This gives setting goals a whole new meaning for me.

Thank you really looking forward to learning more.

Hi Adriana. Thank you for the guidance. Going back to the values, I have identified the following: 1.Success 2.Money 3. Fulfillment 4. Results 5. Courage 6. Fun 7. Exploration 8. Professionalism. Now as you rightly predicted, most of them have away from which I will get rid of. Please share your views wether these values are conducive to success in business, if not what values should we look and what kind of CE especially as for ex myself I am moving out of a corporate job and trying to accelerate my entrepreneurial journey. Thank you!

Hello Adriana, thank you I have read all your responses and are spending time today really thinking how my value align to my business goals and will follow the process noted above. My values are
      . Honesty
      . Fulfilment
      . Stability
      . Achievement
      . Excitement

This process really does make you think in light of your comments above, fulfilment aligns to my passion and purpose in helping other people own their passions. So I feel this aligns well, as I gain fulfilment in helping others and others gain fulfilment in owning their passions in life. I believe that this aligns to family, community and plant earth.

I will work on the rest 🙂 and are speaking out loud here with my thoughts I am on the right track here?

      many thanks Lynn

Business values example for creating a successful entrepreneurial enterprise:

      1. Results (includes success, sales, marketing, advertising as well as Knowledge of the field, and of the world around)
      2. Profitability
      3. Efficiency – (CEq = it means the ratio of the output to the input of any system as well as skillfulness in avoiding wasted time and effort – in business time is your most valued commodity)
      4. Support (including community of likeminded people)
      5. Alignement (including in self = no inner conflicts, and with other people working in the same business, and other likeminded people around the world, it also includes Integrity and Honesty)
      6. Good vendors (for promotional material as brochures, website, etc.)

In the values next to which it is written in brackets “includes …..” = these are clustered values. A clustered value is a value which includes other values. Therefore, the internal representation (the picture) representing that value, contains all the other values. So, for example, when you think of results, you have a picture of successful trainings with your desired number of people, sales coming in and competed successfully, advertising and marketing that works inc including website, etc., (clients coming in) and your knowledge increasing day-by-day.
Successful Marketing, advertising, how to do successful networking and sales in this NLP business are all part of the weekly projects we’ll go through together step by step.

How to get rid of Away Froms from your values:

Ask your unconscious mind “What is the root cause of ALL these away froms, which when disconnected will allow ALL the away froms to disappear?” Get the root cause, float above the time line at the root cause event, get the learnings and let them go. Do it as a limiting decision process.
Once done, test and future pace.
In the Secret of Creting Your Future seminar, doing a group TLT (do not attempt to work with groups unless you are a TLT trainer – there are complications – groups are different from working one-on-one), we discovered that if you get rid of the 5 major negative emotions (anger, sadness, fear, hurt and guilt) 50% of the people had ALL of their away froms from their values disappear. The other 50% had most of their away from disappear.

So when you test, IF you are one of the people for whom not all the away froms have disappeared, let them go one by one using LD process in TLT.

      Hello Adriana & TJ Co,
      Hello to everybody,

I am honored that I remained in contact with you and with the best people from this growing successful environment.
After more than 20 years in the corporatist world, I decided to do what I like. After I discovered last year this amaizing language, ”the international communication language”, and how to connect easely and effortlely with everybody: I decided that, I want to share it to ”the whole planet”.
      Regarding my values, they are:
      1) Challenge&passion,
      2) Money,
      3) Succes,
      4) Freedom,
      5) Inner peace.
Looking forward to find the best strategies for a successful business!

Hey everyone, the business values I posted above are an example. Looking at the ones some of you submitted, here what I can say. If your personal business values are not exactly the same but they encompass all those values I suggested, even if in a different order, or clustered differently it’s ok. To start with, go for what you have as long as you have the essential values – results, sales, marketing, efficiency, profitability, and the bigger picture of helping people or transform the planet (for ecology). Without the bigger picture you can become just a self-serving egocentric individual. But at the same time, the essential values should be there. No business can work without these values.
Oh and BTW, there is no need to submit your values, unless you need advice, or you want to share them by means of assisting other participants in the forum, who may be confused, to get ideas for themselves which is a great practice. This is a platform where we all learn from each other and your ideas may be beneficial to other people on the other side of the world. Remember this is an international world-wide forum. We are really creating an online NLP community to support each other and in the process we’ll guide you all to create your successful business and to personally grow and develop yourselves.

Quick question regarding values change as we need to make a bigger change and shift in the values, is there any preferred way on how to make this massive values shift: do we change the 1st value and then the others one by one or what would you advise us. Thanks!

      • #1738
        Adriana James
        Keymaster

Cristina, are you talking about a shift in values levels? If I understand your question correctly, this is what it means. To make a big shift in values, take it one by one. remember values levels change is connected to neurological changes. those do not happen overnight. so you cannot say, I moved through VL 6 in one night! That’s nonsense.
That being said, let’s say that your (a universal ‘you’ – i am not talking about you personally here) business values are nowhere near to anything suggested above in the business values example I gave you. In this case, you won’t change them all at once. It would turn your life upside down as those values are not supported by strategies…yet! Few people can sustain such a change. I am not saying it is not possible, but it will create a complete change in drive and motivation which has the potential to make you into a different person. Therefore you would start with changing one value at the time remembering that value No. 1 can be changed only after VERY CAREFUL consideration. DO NOT ALLOW YOUR STUDENTS TO CHANGE IT at the Master Practitioner level!!! However, you as trainers should have the thinking necessary to understand when that is possible and why, and when it is not.

Therefore, (and again this is only in the instance where your values are absolutely different from the ones suggested above) start with value No. 3, change it and wait for about 2 weeks. Notice if you’re motivated differently, if your behavior has changed and how. Then change value No. 2, wait for about 2 weeks. please do not get confused – this only in the case where none of your business values are in any form or shape similar to anything suggested.
Now, if your business values are similar, but in different order, than if course the situation is much easier, as you can switch them around (change the order in the hierarchy), cluster them differently and that can be done in one go. Even if one of your values is called differently, but when you elicit the CEq it means the same, then it’s ok. For example, some people call ‘efficiency’ time management, but in their minds it is = to efficiency. Then leave it as time management. It’s fine!

So in both instances, you actually start from bottom up (lower value to higher value). you don’t start with value #1 – but the other way around. No need to start with value NO 6 or 7….I mean, it’s OK, but it won’t make much difference. But starting from value #4, and 3 you can have massive difference in motivation. if you change them all at once and you make a massive shift, and something does awry, the you won’t know where is the culprit. of course, you can put your old values back, and solve the problem, but that’s not the point!

BE VERY CAREFUL WITH VALUE NO 1!!!!!!! LOTS OF ECOLOGY CHECK BEFORE YOU CHANGE THAT ONE PLEASE, and only after you changed all the others and life is OK and in balance.

Deb, to answer your question here is a quote from Rudolf Steiner: “Everything that feeds on negative feelings, on anxiety, fear and superstition, despair or doubt, are in reality hostile forces in supersensible worlds, launching cruel attacks on human beings, while they are being fed. Therefore, it is above all necessary to begin with that the person who enters the spiritual world overcomes fear, feelings of helplessness, despair and anxiety. But these are exactly the feelings that belong to contemporary culture and materialism; because it estranges people from the spiritual world, it is especially suited to evoke hopelessness and fear of the unknown in people, thereby calling up the above mentioned hostile forces against them.” ~Rudolf Steiner
      Time Line Therapy(r) anybody?

It is important to understand what you are actually doing when you assist someone (and yourself) to let go of negative emotions and overcome doubts, inner conflicts….. As a trainer of TLT, you are not only assisting someone with their business, career, family, relationships and other mundane issues. You are actually helping them in their personal development and spirituality just by freeing them from all this junk stuff that in many cases it is not even theirs and which keeps their conscioursness stuck. Business then becomes an extension of one’s consciousness and success and positive results follow. However, in this forum we will focus primarily on how to grow a successful NLP training business and how to become a true MASTER trainer. By this work, whether aware of it or not, you will indeed transform your and all your trainees’ lives in more than one way.
Life values are, of course, related to one’s life CONCERNS which is an issue of values levels. Therefore it would not be appropriate for me to give examples of that as people are at different stages of values levels, not only in the 8 different values levels, but also at different stages in between: entry, full on or exit for each one of these values levels.
However, Deb, as an APEP graduate, not only that you have TLT but you also have a higher Self Therapy so use it for the same purpose for your personal development and growth of consciousness.

      2. Money (freedom, travel, time, fun, support family)
      3. Independence/freedom (choice, limitless (is this an away from>), abundance (also another away from was to not work for anyone else)
      4. Growth/Challenge (development, invest in self, research, expand, amplify, variety)
      5. Passion (love, fun, enthusiasm)
      6. Value (results, satisfied customers, rollovers)
      7. Results (value, change, transformation, impact

        Hey Judy,
Everything looks really good. I assume you ran your goal through Keys to An Achievable Outcome and SMART goals process.
If it is realistic (and knowing you and how you’ve done so far, why not?), then the only thing that could help even more to the achievement of your goal is the value called “Sales/Rollovers (closed sales, money, reward, value)”

To assist in getting the 1 mil financial goal, this should be much higher in the hierarchy. Position No. 2 or maximum 3.
IF (and this is an IF) this is OK with you, and you are congruent, then you can simply move it there by using change values in hierarchy with SMDs, or divide it and cluster it into the IR of values No. 2 or 3. The training business is based on sales and rollovers. This is the bread and butter of the business – and I know you also know this very well. Therefore position 8 in the hierarchy is not really a good place for it. Too low.

I hope this helps and if you have any questions about this, you know where to find me. It was a little of a delay in answering you and I apologize for that. Yesterday we had the Webinar (the link is posted under the Upcoming Zoom Webinars Tab, as well as the transcript of the talk I did) and after the Webinar I had to clean it up and put it on YouTube, do the transcript so I finished working very late (8 pm).

This is a Reply to Margie’s posting in the Q&A section of the Zoom Webinar which I missed .
With apologies for not noticing it, here what you say:

“I have a TLT client who is married to someone who appears to need to have at least 3-5 sexual partners at a given time. The issue is that he sleeps with staff members (unprotected) and he also works with his two daughters who are exposed to his affairs at work. I have successfully helped the two daughters through TLT but I cannot seem to be as successful with the wife with TLT. She remains constantly worried about contracting an STD. She acknowledges that she cannot change her husband (and that he has to change himself) but she wants to keep the relationship but she is hesitant keeping a sexual relationship with him because of fear of contracting an STD (which is a practical realistic issue, I suppose).”

Margie, I am not sure what is the question in your posting. I read carefully the issue you are describing, but I am not sure what is the question you have. I am also not sure what is the presenting problem. I can mind read a bunch of stuff, but since you are inferential, I don’t want to go down the path of answering the NOT question. So, please let me know what is your specific question and I will be more than happy to give you my best thoughts.

Love it! This is a great project and one that Shay & I have done and continue to do on an annual basis…and check up on weekly (when applicable) monthly (where applicable) quarterly (when applicable) and annually on New Year’s Eve. We also find that when our personal goals are REALLY big…it drives more momentum and energy into the actualization of our business goals.

Hi Everyone! I just arrived to the forum and will get started on this project today. I am so, so, sooo excited to do this work. I am already learning just by reading this thread!

Adriana, thank you for the reminder on how to release the away-froms in each of the values. And thank you for the fantastic webinar on Thursday. I have been struggling with uncertainty about feeling fully prepared to teach this life-changing material for the first time all the while executing a solid plan to attract students to my trainings. Participating in the webinar made me feel totally supported and that I’m a real part of the NLP and TJC community. I already know this forum will be game changer in my business and feel even more empowered to do the work. I am honored to be a part of this remarkable group of people. Thanks again!

Hi Irene, great to see you here in the forum. Your values look good. Make sure you elicit the complex equivalents for each of the clustered values as indicated in the project. The detailed understanding of your values will make a huge difference. If there is no incoherence, these values should support your goals very well. If there is inner in congruency, then you’ll feel NE any time you cannot fulfill your values as they are now. I hope this makes sense. And if all is good, onto project No. 2.

      Hi everyone,

Steph, you are making a couple of great points. The first is with regards to this project and the fact that you and Shay revisit this quite often – I realized as well that as I go through the additional projects that Adriana posts, every time I have to sort of go back to check again my basics like ensuring the business plan is realistic, there is a greater meaning and ensuring my values fully support it.
Also I am keen to learn more from you on the point you are making on how the bigger the personal goals are, the more they drive momentum into your business.
      Multumesc!

Late to the party but I have a detailed plan for next five years, and this is what I came up with for business values:

1 Success (personal success, interventions and coaching success, marketing and closing success)
2 Profitability (increasing training size, increasing fee for services, increasing one-to-many seminars)
3 Efficiency (maximising use of all time, maintaining defined time slots for different activities)
4 Personal/professional development (being what i expect of others, continuing to push and drive myself into new learnings, staying outside the comfort zone, perpetual change)
5 Supporting and mentoring others’ development (conferences/public speaking, mentor programs for graduates, support for ex customers and graduates, building practice group into thriving NLP community. Making a difference to people/society/world – helping create the future)
6 Networking (Growth of BNI network, other networks, making the right long term connections, sourcing all business needs with trusted suppliers, getting the right deals)

Excellent Marc!! You may be encountering areas where bits and pieces are missing in your knowledge of details of HOW to make all this happen. But This is why you’re here and this is why we do these projects all together. There is more to learn and I know that if anybody implements all we share here, that person is you. You went through great difficulty, you’ve done that already! You know what it means to put everything into what you want even if it got you great financial trouble. You were not afraid to proceed. As a result you have built a lot of resiliency, and inner power. You went through stage C in the universal model of change. With our help, (and you have it 100%) now you’ll build bit by bit what you want instead and what you always wanted. We will teach you every skill that you don’t have yet. Make sure you do thoroughly project 4. Soon we’ll get to the elevator pitch, and networking for success. But that is built onto you getting done all the homework involved in all previous projects.

Hey Lynn, Your values look good as long as you are aware of your CEs for each value. They look supportive to your business success. However, you need to pay attention to where in your business things don’t work out the way you would like them to do. Therefore, onto the other projects. A very important project is related to the niche and your preference customer (which is directly related to your value 1 and 3. But please do not jump onto project 4 without doing the other projects (1a, b, 2 and 3). The order and sequence of these projects is made in such a way that they build on each other. But in general I can say that your values are very, very good. Let me know how is it going and if I can be of further help.

      Hi Adriana,

The homeworks for projects no.1 and no. 2 are:

As I promised, I reverted to you with my realistic business goals (I connected some dots):
      Period: The goal:
1 year: At least: – 15 Work shops – marketing events
      – 5 Seminars (2-3 days)
      – 3 Practitioners and 1 Master Prac
6 months My First Practitioner- for Management Business / Business Owners (Looking for the suitable name)
3 month A 2 days Seminar – The Power of Your Unconscious Mind
(Experience the Power of Hypnosis) – Will be on my website, in max 2 weeks
1 month An Workshop- with Hypnosis ”Relaxation techniques for successful business people”- I will test the market
      (Is already on pipeline)
      weekly At least 15-20 hours

Regarding the question: What kind of training do you sell?
I have already a request for an insurance company – for hiring, expanding the sales team and finding the best people for this field & taking into account my actual connections from business environment, I will sell training for business growth.

I am out of my comfort zone,… far away, and I discover new limits of myself, and I’m surpassing them, then others limits, and I’m going through them, and so on and so for … I know that I am fully committed and this is my path: ”Make your goals bigger than you are”
(you know that I am a tall person abt 1.75m) 🙂

The big picture: to see around me only healthy people and bright/smiling faces, joy, happiness, light for an Enlightened Earth.

      Regarding my values:
      1) Challenge & passion (excitement, motivation, the desire to helping people to become their best version, networking, extend my data base)
      2) Success (rollovers, sales, marketing, finding my suitable niche, time management, knowledge of the field))
      3) Money (getting results from sales, profitability)
      4) Freedom (free time for myself, travel)
      5) Inner peace(satisfaction, silence in my head)

      Thank you!

      Hi again Miha,
Let’s take it one by one.
You out the homework for project one and two in the same thread for project 1. in the future pleas keep them on the right thread-I.e. Project one answer on project one thread etc. This goes for everyone please. It is too long to explain why this is the case, but trust me. It works better this way.
1.You say: one year from now makes it until March 5, 2019 correct? 15 workshops and marketing events. Is this 2 hours intros, or what events specifically do you mean? If it is so, that’s doable although it requires money to invest or solid contacts to put these events on. I am not saying it is not possible, I am just bringing to your attention some details you need to be aware of as it is unclear from your description.
      2. 3 practitioners – how many people in each? You may say, well as a nay as I can get, but that’s saying “I’ll accept whatever”… And “whatever” is just not specific enough in setting goals (you are also an APEP graduate and you know far more about creati your future and projections). So I am sure you understand what I am saying here. Even if you think of it form setting goals as in CYF from TLT, it requires more specificity. You don’t have to wrote it here if you don’t want to share for whatever reason, you just need to make sue you have clarity in your head.
      3. One MP. – again as above – how many people specifically?
      4. The request from the company. Hiring , expanding the sales team etc. This is right down your oath of what you learned on. Master practitioner. Maya programs for hiring, values elicitaiton especially pay attention to the threshold values becaus these are the values that show you what is the threshold for a person to stay in the job for a long time or go, for eh sales team – also meta programs; you want STJ (sensor, thinker, judges) in meta programs and not IEP (intuitor, feels, perceived). A perceived is not good for sales as s/he does not have any need for closure sontheybwill not close the sales. In terms of. Allies levels for sales team you want VL 3-5 and not 2-4-6 so plenty of work to do and you know what to do. So, out of your comfort zone is good. Trust your knowledge and ask whatever you need. This is why we have this forum. For questions like this.
      5. Your big picture is a little hazy. “Enlightened earth” can mean so many things. Make sure you understand what does that mean when you say these words. Healthy people could also mean people hooked onto machines or with a microchip in their heads to “make them healthy” with nanobots. I am not saying this is good or bad, right or wrong, as I don’t presume to tell you want to do. I am not that arrogant to say that I know better. What I am saying is that you should be again Rey clear in your head as to what that means. The roofless of enlightenment presupposes a period of breakdown of everything that keeps one from being enlightened. It’s not pretty. It presupposes that a person has to go several times through point C in the universal model of change. So, if you’re prepared to go for this, absolutely!!! It’s a worthy goal. But be also prepared to deal with people going through this, which is a period of drama, trauma as all the beliefs about what life is about will have to change. And giving up ones MOW is very difficult.
      6. About your values. Make sure that values number 5 and 6 do not conflict with values number 1 -3. And also that they do no conflict to your goals for one year. You have lofty goals that presuppose a lot of work. And and I really mean a LOT of work. No time to travel and do nothing. No time for nothing in your head. In fact business owners and VL5 people have too much in their heads. This is why self-hypnosis is necessary to take things out of ones head every evening so one can sleep. Ask any business owner. They live and breathe their business. It is stuck to their hip like a needy 5 year old child. There is no time off. So, as I see it, your values 4 and 5 conflict with your goals. You’re either going to have these values unfulfilled if you don’t really go for your goals for the year which will end up with you feeling frustrated with not achieving them, or you’re not going to have your values 4 and 5 fulfilled which is the same thing. They are in conflict for the moment.
That’s my analysis of what you posted and I hoe I gave you some ideas to work on. Let me know if you have other questions.

Hi, thank you for your specifically answer.

I wrote the homework for project 1 and 2 in the same thread (for project 1), because you ask us – in project 2 : „to write down ( What kind of trainings we will sell?) on the page where we have already written our business goals”.

1-3. Ref. business goals, for the moment , I haven’t details regarding my future trainings – there are some missing pieces puzzle , AND I “threw my hat over the fence”. I understood that I have to be more specifically; I will definetely work on this.

I read your answer to Margie”s post: ”….remember we create the future time line moment to moment according to what we hold in our minds about it. Moment to moment. The more clarity and the more defined boundaries about what you want you have, the clear and cleaner the results.”

      4. Regarding the request for hiring: Could you pls tell me more info abt Maya programs for hiring , some bibliography?

      6. Regarding my values: I have to work harder in order to align my values with my goals. I think that : all my rewards/ fullfilment / satisfactions should come from my passion – with a lot of work 24/24 ( at least for my start-up). Pls your advice for solving the conflict between 1-3 values and 4, 5.

I am in a transition process: I will leave my current job, and to be fully dedicate for my entrepreneurial journey.

I choosed „to take action” to test the market, and I know that everything will arange, AND I will connect more and more dots.

Thank you again for one more precious lesson!

      Realistic goals:

It is now 31st of Dec 2018, I have delivered 3 Prac (Jun, Jul, Aug once per month), and 1 Master Prac (Oct) and 1 Hypnosis (Nov), and I have made $70K from all the workshops I delivered. I open my computer, log in xero and check my business P/L, I have around $70K amount shows under Sales. I hear myself say: “Linda you made it exactly as what you had put on your timeline, you rock!”. I am celebrating with my team and watching fireworks outside of my apartment, we are drinking and chatting, they all give their best wishes to me.

      Business Values:

      1. Personal & spiritual growth: challenge and expand self, inner integration, emotional intelligence, strengthen my true authentic self
      2. Profitability: advertising, marketing, sales, wechat group, Chinese social media, Chinese market (including China), audio and video promotions, free events
      3. Love & contribution: contribute to people’s positive change and development, wake people up from the unconsciousness, gathering people around, influence and make a difference: when you help enough people to get what they want, they will help you to get what you want.
      4. Passion and excitement: link all activities to my highest value which is personal and spiritual growth, constantly inspired
      5. Creativity: teach in my own creative manner, Linda’s version of NLP etc
      6. Team work & network: seek business partners and connect with like minded people
      7. Time management: efficiency
      8. Connection and support (form a community of likeminded people both in Australia and in China)
      9. Travel to China (and bring Chinese students to Australia).
      10. Result: having students keep coming back for more trainings and plenty of referrals

Hello Brigitte thank you for joining us!

I certainly like seeing Results in your top 2 for business values 🙂

Maybe I’m being too picky or I have my coaching cap on really tight right now, however I wouldn’t personally write “no conflicts” as a CE for any of my values…just because the UM doesn’t process negatives and the more conflicts we have in our values the more scattered our results…I’d use “100% congruent”
However that language may just indicate right now that you have some away-froms in your top value…therefore you know what to do next! 🙂

Good start and see you as you go through the projects!

Hi Brigitte, with apologies for late reply here re my thoughts. These values are very nice but not “edgy” enough in the environment we live in. In other words, you need to add 1 or 2 more VL5-7 values to the list. Empowerment and Education are great values, however not very good in a VL 5 environment in which we live even if most people are not aware of this fact. To be competitive, and make a good business, you need at least 2 more expressive VL having to do with business and less sacrificial VL values. I am saying 5-7 not only 5, because if you have only VL 5, you’ll become an unfeeling, cut-throath, competition to death, dissociate, mechanical, step-over-others person, which won’t be fun to be around. i hope this makes sense.

My apologies for being a late starter, with the full understanding that I may get no response. 🙂
However – what is a real eye-opener for me, when I compared my values to the ones you suggested as an example Adriana; is that nowhere did I have results, marketing or sales
      1. Growth and development
      2. Alignment
      3. Excellence
      4. Creativity
      5. Financial freedom
      6. Leadership
      7. Global networks
      8. Teamwork
Which raises the rather uncomfortable question – how much am I in this for me, and how much for the client? Is this level four / five – lacking 6 or a limiting belief? Do I simply create the IR of the ‘Results’ value and insert it?

      • #3169
        Adriana James
        Keymaster

Hi Jenny, let me answer your question. Your values are always for you. They ar YOUR values.
However, if they included only you and your personal interests, they’ll make you into a selfish, self – centered, unfeeling and uncaring person hard to interact with. And then instead of empowering others, you will be hurting others and not even be aware of it. This is not desirable. It may bring you financial success, but it will destroy any and all relationships with others. In other words, you will become and Ad machine with only VL 5 self directed behaviors.
On the other hand, if your values reflect only care for others leaving you and your interests out, you will be a sacrificed person who will always lack the resources necessary to actually do what you feel is actually good for others as well. It will lead. To frustration, judgmental ism, righteousness (manifested negatively) and envy.
So it has to be a mixture of VL5 and VL5 and if possible 7. In an ideal world we would leave out the VL5 and operate only from 7 and maybe even 8… Alas, this is not an ideal world for the moment, so watching out for making money and being prosperous is good, and a olutely necessary for developing a business that’s successful, but doing it alone -as a loner – and being at it alone it is difficult if not impossible. Again in our environment we need others to rely upon.
So relationships based on truth and no pretense with likeminded people are important. This is one of the main reasons why I developed the forum. To create a platform where likeminded people from all over the world can interact in a supportive way in relationship to each other, sharing and at the same time learning room others, for personal and mutual benefit.
To conclude, in your values always include (in the IR of the values) empowering and working for others while at the same time you fulfill your needs and work for yourself. This is why for us “transforming the planet” is such a great value. It gives us the greater purpose for why we do what we do, beyond our personal interests.
It comes a time in every person’s life where working only for your benefit and your interests must be transcended if you were to ever grow beyond VL5, not to speak about growing your consciousness. There is always something bigger as a purpose of life than just you and that something includes others. At the same time this should not exclude you. So it’s that paradoxical thinking of VL7 which creates the best results. I hope this helps.

Oh, and one more thing. Jenny, please look at the answer i wrote for Brigitte’s post. I would say the same thing for your business values. They need to be more…VL 5-7 values and less VL 4-6

      Hi Adriana

Thank you for your reply. I especially like your comment: “relationships based on truth and no pretense with likeminded people are important” In the early days, I thought NLP was about constant positive thinking. Then I understood it’s about acknowledging the feelings that arise from the uc and having the tools to move forward from there. That with integration, both parties are heard. And it’s not a sign of failure to be open about the occasional funk one is experiencing, with fellow practitioners, whilst also knowing that they’re not going to attend any pity party, rather give the invitation to move to cause. And vice versa – me assisting other practitioners in a similar manner.

And now I’ll get to work on those values 🙂

That’s great Jenny. I am feeling a little out of my depth here. What you said, “is not a sign of failure to be open about the occasional funk one is experiencing, with fellow practitioners, whilst also knowing that they’re not going to attend any pity party, rather give the invitation to move to cause. And vice versa – me assisting other practitioners in a similar manner.” has given me a great place to stand, grow from and know that my failings/learnings will help others.

Thanks Annie. I guess it’s about us being real with each other. And having the openness to hear: when did you decide that? ?
If all of us knew exactly how to do this journey, we wouldn’t be here; the exciting thing is that we’re prepared to push into the unknown, knowing we’re not alone and able to encourage each other, learn from each other and champion our triumphs. Looking forward to that! ??

        Hi Annie,

        You say:

        1. Freedom (self and others, full self expression, empowerment, own boss, flexible hours, locations and delivery methods, efficiency of energy (time, $, effort) expenditure)
        2. Integrity (self and others, respect, honesty, alignment, empowerment, forthright)
        3. Results (self and others, increasing profitability, sales, marketing, advertising, recommendations, referrals, satisfaction, success, positive impact on humanity and planet as whole)
        4. Evolution (self and others, personal growth, business growth, recognising and utilising opportunities, wisdom)

These are great values in general. But for business, it is my opinion that they need to be more …business oriented. As I also answered Brigitte above, these values are very nice but not edgy enough for business. And “evolution” is a different context so it is misplaced value for the context we’re discussing.

I appreciate that you clustered a lot in value no 3, which is the only one edgy enough for the business context. Remember that VL5 is based on numbers, percentages, market share…. The values you describe are too humanistic either for VL5 or even 7 to lead to a edgy and successful business. Same advice as for Brigitte so please check my answer to her. Look also at the example of business values I gave at the beginning of this thread, and see if something inspires you. There may be also a problem with the order and sequence of the values in the hierarchy. I hope this helps a little.

      Hi there everybody,

I have spent some time working on my values. I already had been working on my personal values, and now I have my business values as well.

      Personal values:
Freedom (work where I want, when I want, doing what I enjoy doing, I no longer work to live, but work is part of my freedom)
Money (Money gives choice, and money gives opportunity, also it takes the pressure away from not having it)
Career (Be successful at what I do, love what I do, career is part of my lifestyle)
Personal Development (Grow spirituality and personally. Be in an inter-dependent relationship in which you support each other)
Lifestyle (Career that I love with the opportunity to spend lots of time travelling with my partner and exploring different cultures across the world.

      Business Values
Be hugely profitable (Manage my money wisely, have passive income, and get rewarded for transforming the lives of many people)
Ethical and Authentic (Be a role model to others. Stay true to who I am and what I teach others)
Communication (this is about my message of being ethical and authentic, and how I relate to others and how I am perceived (adventurous, creative, knowledgeable, youthful and positive energy)
Excel in sales and marketing (it is a personal block which I am currently releasing. How do I stand out, what makes me different? How do I tap into all of my knowledge? I don’t know how to sell IT
Lifestyle (My job is part of my lifestyle, giving me the freedom and opportunity to live life accordingly, this aligns my career with personal values)
Work globally (Fits in with my lifestyle and my desire to reach as many people as I can)
Heal people and transform people’s lives (Yes, I am passionate about helping people transform and experience life’s richness filled with improved relationships, career opportunities, health, wealth and confidence)
Share the stage with the world’s greatest.
(Oprah Winfrey is in my phone, As is Joe Dispenza, Bob Proctor and a few others, I am clear on my vision, but at times I struggle how to organise everything I know)
My exit strategy is to leave it to somebody else and get them to carry on the legacy or to enjoy the success
Have everything systemised (How can I systemise my coaching? My business is too immature to think about stuff like that. It feels a bit restrictive, also not like me, I am more the creative person)

Hi Marcus, good to see you in the forum. I have been following the conversations in the forum although I am in the middle of the summer trainings in the USA an, as you can imagine, extremely busy.
Looking at your business values and especially the comments in brackets I can only say that if you do the projects one by one you will get to where you want to be. Especially the elevator pitch – closing sales, 5 step sales process. Did you study and put in practice the Marketing for NLP sales section? These are all designed to move you beyond your worries and questions you have today. The move from the thinking of VL4-6 to 5-7 is a very big one and it requires skills which you are now embarking on.
Tad’s comments: there is no substitute for 20 compketed phone calls /day to a live person. Talking to people live and hearing their objections, handling them, overcoming them, closing the sales, etc. is what makes enrollments in trainings possible. Start where you are and leave Oprah level for later. If you stat that way, you’ll never get anywhere. Sop worryjkng about Joe – for the moment all these are time wasters for you.
There are several questions you need to ask yourself:
      1. Did I make 20 completed phone calls today?
      2. If the answer is no, go to No. 1
      3. If 1 and 2 don’t work go to 1 and do it again.
      4. If the answer is yes, put further appointments in your calendar, and make the same for tomorrow. And day after tomorrow.
The training business is a business. Every business is based on sales.
To conclude, keep going and build slowly but surely. Bit by bit. You absolutely will get where you want to be if you follow a clear plan.

      Hello from Cali,
It took me two evenings to read all of these posts! Love the synergy. I have done project 1. Here are my business values now, without changes yet. After doing a lot of TLT, I don’t feel I have a lot of away-from, yet I am looking at that.

1: Making a difference/ Purpose fulfillment (results in my clients, bigger growing impact, positive global influence)
2: Success (sales, #’s in trainings, growth in influence, preparedness, efficiency)
3: Freedom (choice, creativity, time, location, space, who to serve, when and where)
4: Sharing (voice, influence, marketing, messaging, referrals, roll-overs, happy customers, employees and team members)
5: connections (#’s in data base, #’s in person connections, Phone #s, Names to call)
      6: Money (sales, rollovers, investments)
7: Residual Income (passive residual income coming in)
8: Excitement (Fun, change, seeing change in others, new people/staff/ partners, solving challenges)
9: Creativity (keeping relevant and up to date with marketing, messaging))
10: Respect (Earning and giving respect to clients, team members, integrity in all dealings, community respect and working together)

At looking at beneficial changes.. I just put success at number 2 at TT this summer.. Should I move up money? to #3?

Ahh Haa! I was thinking of moving my value of money/sales from #6 to #3 in my Business Values (see above) and I am having a hard time finding my IR of Money/sales. All that comes up is a Schedule C (in the US that is a tax filing). Any Suggestions? Money/ sales is so abstract to me.. could be the problem.. ya think?

        Leslie,
A couple of thoughts for you (and this is just me so feel free to reject any of it that doesn’t work for you).

First, your CEq for Money includes sales, as does your CEq for Success. Are these the same thing or are they different? If they’re different but have the same CEq, your UM may be somewhat muddled about the difference, which could affect your ability to find a clear I/R for Money.

Second, “money” in and of itself does not necessarily imply profitability, which is what I suspect is actually important to you in this case. Being very clear in your language may help you find that elusive I/R!

And again, this is just me so feel free to reject it if it doesn’t work for you.

        Hope that helps!

        Paul Jensen

        Thanks Paul,

That gives me something to think about. For me, Sales as a part of success is the quantity of sales = #s of people assisted. Money sales are the $ amount of those sales, profitability etc. Since I have not had a profit from my business, yet.. I don’t have an I/R of that.

I’ve earned money from clients.. one paid me in a bunch of $100 bills in a fat envelope.. perhaps I can connect that somehow.

As you know.. I don’t want to just “make-up” a picture. I want to find my I/R of How important Money is to me in the context of my business.

        I’m working on that! =O)

        It is actually rather simple.
If you don’t have an IR for money/sales/rollovers what is that doing in your values hierarchy?
Remember you elicit your values AS THEY ARE now.
If you did that, you should have a clear IR of that value even if it is clustered. Remember not all people have clustered values. But each of the values, (we talked about it in MP) has a picture associated with it. If there is no picture…there is no value just an empty word (Ad, label).
If you don’t have an IR this means that your value is how you think it should be not as it really is.
You can create an IR for the value as you want it to be in case you decide to insert a new values in the hierarchy. No problem there. Make sure there are no incongruities, conflicts, and away froms in the value by doing TLT to let go of all the away froms and if necessary parts integration. But aside from that, if the value is not there and you want it to be there (which I gather from what you said) make up an IR, ask yourself how would it be if it was there, where you see money coming to you, doing sales and having the rollovers you want for your trainings. THEN, insert it in the values hierarchy at No. 3 if this is the place where you want it to be and ecology is taken into account.

        Thanks Adriana,

That seems pretty simple. Not sure why it was in my hierarchy if it didn’t have a picture. The only picture I had was a Schedule C. Now I have a better I/R of the value of sales/ rollovers and Money coming into my business to make it Profitable, and I have inserted it into the number 3 slot.

Wow! At my Master Prac, Tad told me that to be good at sales, I would need to be a Judger instead of a Perceiver and that I need to move my timeline from in-time to through time. I didn’t really want to do that yet I wanted to do sales so I gave it a try and it never really stuck.

I did what you said, Adriana, and created a new I/R of Profitability (money-sales-rollovers-orders) and put it in the number three slot Yesterday..Imagine my surprise when, while listening to Tad at a SCYF seminar in my car this morning, he elicits the timeline. and when he says where is your past? my left hand pointed left.

Hahahahaha! I’m laughing all the way to the bank and this afternoon enrolled a client in a $3K program I am running Sept 6th.

WOW! What a revelation I just had by doing this Project. I have been conducting trainings and seminars for 4 years and loving every moment of it but I didn’t realise until I did this project how complacent I had got. Doing this thoroughly I revisited my values and the IR’s and again WOW – the complacency (and away froms) gone and I have upped the ante. I can really see the importance of revisiting values and determining what they mean to me and why are they important! Very powerful. Thankyou to all in this Mastermind group for sharing your information and especially Adrianna. I learnt so much more just reading through all these posts. A wonderful initiative to have the Master Trainer Program enhanced like this. Thankyou.

      My realistic goals:

      1. Two group coachings per year in March and in May 2019
      2. Rollover the group coaching attendees to my NLP Pract or my VIP continuos Coachings.
      3. My first NLP Pract is scheduled for 2/2/19 and I have one client already enrolled.

I feel good about these goals and I know I can do more, however, I do have some “away from” values to work out (Values Level 4 thinking). Then, in terms of ecology, I have 3 young kids and I want to balance my time with them too as well as being there for my husband. Not to mention that I still have a part time job. So, Yes, I am very carefully balancing it all out.

My purpose for coaching and training is to empower people to reconnect with their body, mind, emotions for deep healing and transformation. Doing this will achieve a decrease in healthcare spending and chronic diseases.

The greater purpose of my business is to “Accelerate the Evolution of Medicine”.

      My Business Values/Hierarchy:

      Value (Doing what works, worthwile)
Quality (Lasting effect on the people I work with)
Integrity (do what I say I will do)
Money (be financially independent and viable)
      Generosity (give to charity)

That’s what I got. Any suggestions from anyone is greatly appreciated. I’m here to learn and grow.

      Hey team,

I have a quick question around values and Ceq. Apologies in advance if this sounds a bit basic but I don’t remember the exact answer….so, good place to learn. 🙂

So when eliciting values, we ask “What’s important to you”, then we put them in order, then we ask “Why is this important to you” and we’re looking for the Towards and Away values.

When we get the percentage of towards and away – which if I understand right is just a guess by the client (let’s say it’s 20% away and 80% towards) – are we doing TLTH on the 20% to get it to 0? So do we need to go in and identify the specific LB and LD’s for the 20% and work on them?

      Appreciate the help everyone.

      Thanks
      Chris

        Adriana James
        Keymaster

        Hi Chris,
The questions is very good. So one you elicit the values, in all three ways (standard elicitstion, motivation and threshold) you then figure out the towards and way from in each value. As you correctly say the question to figure that one out is “why is ______ important to you? You so this question several times, and based on the language the client gives you, you already have a prep good idea of the percentage of toward and away from. Then you ask the client to give you a percentage based on their intuition.
Now, to the core of your question: once you have established the away from in each value, then you can grab it all together. Here is how you ask the question:
“Considering ALL of this away on in this value, what’s the root cause of ALL of it, which when disconnected will allow ALL t of it to disappear, was it before, during or after your birth? ”

And you’re right at the finding the root cause in TLT.

Think of it, even if there are beliefs, negative emotions etc, as part of that away from, there is always one that came first. That started the whole package of away froms. So you find out the root cause of ALL th away from and you let it go all at once assuming a gestalt of away froms connected to that value.
Therefore there is no need to do them individually.
Test afterwards, do clean up if necessary, and you’re done.
        ??

    • #3672

Thanks very much Adriana, yes that makes sense.
Can I ask a follow up question – and I’m happy to be pointed in the right direction to find the answer. I just want to make sure my knowledge is precise so I can execute correctly with my clients.

The 3 ways of values elicitation – standard, motivation and threshold….

Standard is “In the context of “……” what’s important to you?” That’s the one I have been using with my clients so far.
Can you please remind me on the motivation and threshold value elicitation?

      Thanks very much.

      Hey Chris,

For motivation you ask (may not be exact language off the top of my head, but more or less):
“Can you remember a time you were totally motivated in the context of [career/relationship/etc]? Can you remember a specific time? Go back in your body see what you saw, hear what you heard, and feel the feelings of being totally motivated, and now rewind the movie of your memory to the moment just before you got motivated. What is the feeling you felt right before you got motivated?”
Then they will say something like “determined.” Or it may not be a feeling… could be something like “well I was being really creative.” That’s fine too.
“Is determination/creativity important to you in your career?”
      “Yes.”

For threshold: “If you had all the [values they gave you so far] in your [career/relationship/etc], what would make you leave?”
They give you one or more values. “Is that important to you in your career?” “Yes.”
“Ok so if you had that [the value(s) that would make them leave] AND all the [values they gave you via standard elicitation], what would make you stay?”
They give you one or more values. “Is that important to you in your career?” “Yes.”
“If you had that and everything above, what would make you leave?”…
And so on. Keep alternating between what would make them leave and stay until they say “Nothing would make me stay.”

These scripts should be in the book Time Line Therapy and the Basis of Personality and/or the values elicitation script in the Master Prac manual.

      Cheers!
      Adam Mayer

5 – Smart use of money (reinvest for money to grow)
6 – Growth (I must grow in the process of my business growing) – this might also simply be a by-product of values 1-5

Thanks everyone – open to receive any feedback if something stands out as needing some attention.

      Have a great day.

        Hey Chris, good job.
        1. I even put on my glasses but still I don’t see value No. 4… ? am I missing something or are you checking to see if we notice? LOL
        2. Your values are very nice but they are VL4-6 …not very much 5.
        Sales, advertising, marketing are missing.
The bread and butter of any business is sales. This value must be there at the top somewhere.
Also as you remember VL5 business is based on numbers, percentages, etc. Unless these are part of business values, th business will not thrive as it is missing its key components. So add these (you can cluster values) but make sure they are part of the pictures (IRs) representing the values themselves and not only some words (Ad).
Good luck. Let us know how you go. ??

      • #3750

        Hahahaha thanks Adriana.

I must have left room for sales and marketing unconsciously lol lol

Ok, I have redone my values as follows. Interestingly, when I introduced sales and marketing, they altered from what I had written previously.

        Business Values
1 – Results (Clients must get results to the extent they are willing to do the work and I must get paid appropriately + Recognition for the work I do

2 – Sales and Marketing (met with results as follows:
        – Convert every $1 spent on marketing to $2 of revenue
        – 10% of revenue spent on marketing
        – 70%+ conversion of all discovery calls into business building

3 – Integrity and Authenticity (Be real and be approachable)

4 – Growth (I must grow in the process of my business growing) – this might also simply be a by-product of values 1-4

Hi all! Looking forward to taking part in this programme! Completing from New Zealand 🙂
Business goals are as follows, have changed my business structure quite a bit since trainers training so I’m not sure how realistic these are. (My full time job is this business, trainings (below) as well as 1:1 coaching (NLP and Personal Training), and my partner is in it with me)

      Goals for Trainings:
By 1st Jan, 2020 I will have completed
8x Mindset to Health Weekends, $150pp, 140 total people through (intro weekends, similar to secret of creating future but focused around health (as am PT, so building on my field of expertise).
8x Mindset for Business, $150pp, 140 total people through – Intro 4 evening seminar – NLP in business, the basics: communication model, rapport, sensory acuity, empowerment (cause & effect).
      5x NLP Practitioners: $3,500pp, 40 people

      3. Continuous Growth (for myself, personally, professionally and my clients, and Stamina as a company)

        Hi Mia, great goals.
Re. values. One little question. Since we talk business, where is sales, marketing and advertising?
Especially sales without which no people will be in the seats…or in the chair for the 1:1 sessions as a matter of fact.
Your values are great for a VL4-5 perspective. Since we are talking about values for the subcategory called business, in business VL 5-7 works the best. So see if you can tweak it – but make sure you’re congruent with the tweaking, and the changes are reflected in the pictures representing the values, not only in the words you add on the paper.

Hi All. My goal is to create a business, where 13 to 17 yeaar old school children, that are repeatedly getting into trouble at school and are getting suspended or expelled, will come and do a 5 week intensive self discovery program, where they will be coached on the importance of community and self. They will enter a world where they will learn how there actions effect those around them on a personal and community basis and be given guidance in understanding their own values in life, how to set goals and go for them, learn skills through daily activities they may have never considered for career choices, but most of all, learn basic life skills like cooking, finance control, and other normal activities required in daily life. They will be involved in team building exercises and get a general sense of belonging in a group setting. There will be education evenings where they will have an open learning session with their peers to help each other understand any shortfalls they have in their education and one parent/mentor day a week, so the person they nominate, can come and see thier growth and also learn the importance of a supoort network when the children return home.

I plan to make it a not for profit organisation, funded by government funding, corporate entities, the private sector and fund raising activities.

My time frame to make this happen is 2 years and the reasons are as follows:

      1 week:
I am already building my private 1 on 1 coaching practice with friends for experience and confidence in the coaching process. I am also defining my own personal approach to delivering sessions so they are not so clinical and more personable. (Aiming for unconscious competence). I already have 3 clients, seeing my first one last Tuesday, with ongoing sessions already booked. I am also attending all free seminars i can for my own education and to meet with like minded individuals, for any information they are willing to share. I attended a wealth from workshops seminar last week with a former student of TJC, Benjamin Harvey, and he thrust me into the unknown world to me, of marketing, so now i am committed to learning more about that.

1 month: I aim to have my website more functional and user friendly (http://mbgsuccesscoach.com.au) and learn how to link trainings, session bookings and events to it. Also continue with marketing it and learning how to grow my online presence for advertising my services. I am going to Griffith to meet with the person who I did my breakthroughs with in Master Prac, for work experience as she is a councellor for suicidal aboriginal children and is also going to introduce me to the operators of The Aboriginal Medical centre, a not for profit organisation, to learn how they started.

2 months: I have already advertised my first 3 Day Modern Hypnosis Certification to be held in February.

3 months: I will start coaching sessions with children 13 to 17 year olds that are having problems at home and school, to accumulate a success rate, to provide future investors, with facts of a proven system that show the benefits of the program, when I present to them. (I aim to do this over 6 months to to create as many success stories as I can). I will contact fundraising organisations to see what services they offer and see wich ones are right for me. The funding process is very detailed, confusing and time extensive, so professional help is vital.

4 months: Run my first Practitioner course.

5 months: Run my second 3 Day Hypnotheray Certification.

7 months: Run my second Practitioner course.

9 months: Run my first Master Practitioner Course

      1 year:
I am in the process of creating a business plan already, outlining the business purpose and structure, course programs and schedules, finance and budget forecasts, management structure and staffing, volunteer program, legal obligations, marketing and advertising and fundraising options and targeting. This together with my list of children with whom my program works, I will confront the Department of Education, major supermarkets and banks, major companies and funding organisations like Wesley mission etc, to secure funding to start the Program. I will also make a crowd funding video to target individuals willing to donate.

18 months: Source a property to begin operations. The first one to be in The Hunter Valley region, as this area has the second highest expulsion rate in New South wales and is lacking support services.

2 years and beyond: Get the Deprtment of Education to support the program and expand to have centres in each region of N.S.W.

My Passion behind this program comes from my own personal experience with the Education Department, as i did not understand school and the strain on my family was enormouus with the fact that I just didnt get it. I was made to feel stupid and incompetent at a young age and was always getting into trouble. I left at the age of 15 and entered the work force and never looked back. My second son, also didnt get school and was suspended several times before being expelled in year 9 and it took him 3 years to complete his year 10 equivalent through external entities. At the age of 22, he now runs his own company, contracting to the largest vegetation mangement companies in Australia and the world.

It wasn’t an easy journey staying positive and guiding him with understanding through those years, but with the information and processes i have learnt this year with TJC, I firmly believe, that all kids have a chance in life and they just need someone to believe in them and guide them without giving up on them. the highest amount of expulsions in N.S.W. is kids in year 10, thats 15 to 16 years of age. They are already getting lost long before this stage, and with the information available through the internet these days, the younger we intervene with these kids, the better chance we have of giving them meaning and purpose to their lives and everyone around them.

My Values for this program are as follows:

      Integrity
Support (for kids, families and teachers being let down by the system)
Flexibility (for kids to find out who they are and what’s their purpose)
      Patience
      Growth
      Stability
      Education
      Results
      Marketing
      Finance
      Community

Marty, I did not miss your post but i am in the middle of an NLP TT in Japan and i wanted to give it my most consideration as it is a well-defined and well-thought goal which also provides a wonderful direction for the future. I see it as a series of goals which one achieved, will open up the possibility for further goals and growth. You will encounter resistance and opposition from the education boards, as there is a lot of inertia, stuck-ness, and corruption to maintain a certain status-quo. But as you say, what is now going on in the education arena does not work,…well…it kind of works limping along but not at the level you want to take it.
This is good; opposition will always be there no matter what you attempt to do. Obstacles present themselves only in the face of goals that we set. I believe that you have what it takes, the drive and the motivation to overcome any obstacles if you play it smart and wise.

I have just a suggestion to make and for you to think about. Since you want to establish a non-profit organization, your values are good. However, even a non-profit organization has to pay the salaries of the people working for that organization. so making profit, or making money, or income on the Profit and Loss statement must be there somehow. You call it “finance” (although I don’t know exactly what you mean by that) and I am not sure if this means being financed through governmental grants and that’s it. I would have some sort of “money-coming-in” type value in the top 4 values.

You need income to advertise, to market it, to pay yourself and the people you will eventually employ, to speak only of some basic things. You need to account for electricity, internet, phones, web promotions, leads-generation, etc. You will need to pay for trips to meet with government officials, to promote your workshops and trainings, etc, etc. There is a lot of financial investment and expenses that go on in such an organization just as well as in any for profit orgnizations.
So somehow, you need to have a value that reflects money coming in, otherwise you’ll end up with a great heart, wonderful enthusiasm and willingness to help (and all my respect to you for seeing the real problems in education) and no funds to even get it started so that it works well.
Therefore, in my opinion, for example even the value “Results” as a valueis too low in the hierarchy to be meaningful.
As you think of it, “Results” is a very abstract high in VL thinking system type of value, which encompasses a lot more.

That being said we had an old-time graduate from British Columbia in Canada who secured government funds to work with native tribes on the order of about 200k/year for several years. So it is possible, but it’ll be a lot of work, and usually this comes with strings attached. Governments seem to have lots of money for “other” projects but when it comes down to what really counts for the population they seem to always run short. This means nothing. They have money if you work the plan correctly and I have a good feeling that you will succeed big. Exciting!!!

I haven’t read all the questions and posts just yet so perhaps this has been answered already, but I wanted to post this anyway as a way to hold myself accountable for what I want to create for my future.

Recently I have moved to Ireland from Australia and am starting my coaching and NLP training business from scratch. The only thing I am starting with is the education and experience that I learned in the past. I have no income and barely any money. There is a big backlog with Immigration so as of right now, I can’t legally work to earn some money or start my business.

Prior to this, I was involved in a coaching business in Australia that I had no ownership in, and the direction it was going was different from what I wanted to do. Because of the way the business was moving there wasn’t much room for my own contributions and I have been quite inactive in this Master Trainer program.

So because I am now doing my own thing, I am jumping back into what I originally started out to do which was teach people NLP and personally coach clients. My first step is to jump back into the Master Trainer Program beginning with Project 1 and get involved in the community.

Right now I’m looking for advice on what would be the best place to start given my current situation. No income, minimal finances, no legal status (I’m married to an Irish Citizen so it’s coming) and no contacts. To reframe where I’m at is that with all this time I can now develop a compelling business plan and get relly clear on what I want to create.

      Hope you’re all rocking it!

Hey Nathan, good to see you here and welcome to the forum. You know you have the app as well, right? If you don’t, you can download it for both Apple and Android devices.
The problem is that you are not legally allowed to work. Otherwise you could do coaching online and use your wife’s bank account – as an Irish citizen she has bank accounts until you are allowed to have yours. It is a little difficult as I can see. You want to be legal, and do what you’re allowed in the bounds of the law.
Hopefully your residency works out as fast as possible.
One thing you surely can do is to set goals in the future time line for this to happen fast and as smoothly as possible. It always works if you work it.
Let us know how’s it going.

Thanks for your reply, Adriana. I still have bank accounts in Australia and an active ABN so I’m wondering if it matters where I am conducting the coaching sessions if I’m running them online?

Now is a good time for planning I agree but at the same time, I know that action is how to get things moving. I have seen many people spend too long planning without taking action and then wonder why nothing is happening.

But I also wonder, because I am the creator of my reality and circumstances through my own decisions and previous actions, then I have created where I am right now and the universe has delivered to me what I want based on my thinking and desire. So the question is, do I push up against the resistance to make things happen sooner or do I utilise this time to properly work out what I want and plan it accordingly.

I know you can’t answer that for me but I would appreciate your thoughts on this.

Of course, you are right. I cannot answer this for you, only you can.
What I can say though – not really knowing details of your circumstances – is that sometimes there is time to slow down and sometimes it is time to go full speed ahead. although this may sound like a platitude there is a big truth in it.
How would you know? Pay attention to the details in your projections. If (and that’s a big IF) you can figure out their source (inner source that is) you can also figure out how you created them and how you ended up with the result you got. That in and of itself is a lesson in what to do next.
Where opportunity arises take it but calculate carefully the consequences. Short term and long term. For yourself and others.
But I know you know that already.

I hope you have a lawyer in your immigration process. This can help you with a speedy-(er) work permit. Talking to someone who is going through the process right now in the US, this seems to work.

Yes, I agree, no business runs without money. I used the term ‘finance’ as it encompasses many aspects of the processes i need to install to access funds but also the vast array the money will be allocated. wages, meals, activities, bills etc. Once I am ready to go full steam ahead, I can see money becoming one of the top three values required for the programme to exist. Loving the feedback, Thankyou.

Sounds great Linda. Daring goals. They will definitely keep you busy.

I have just one question: how are you going to fit 130 hours in 5 days for NLP Prac.?
It seems awfully short even if you speak really fast…. ?
That’s the international standard for a complete NLP Ptactitoner.

Are you going to give them pre-training and post-training sufficient homework?
If you don’t maybe you should think of doing that to make sure your standards of delivery are at the excellent level.
Or maybe extending it in the number of days?
        Just giving you ideas…

      Hi Adriana
Thanks for your input, initially I thought about 7 days but realised I am not including Hypnosis at this stage.

I was thinking of modelling Luke Hawkins way for now, I did my prac and master prac with him and we didn’t combine NLP Practitioner, TLT, NLP Coach and Hypnosis. Hypnosis was a seperate course. I was thinking of starting this way until I come and assist at one of your Practitioners to learn it a different way and then possible change it then.

I thought I will do it how I learned it, 3 certificates in 5 days, including pre study and I want to create a group where my students continuously have to come together once a month to practise the techniques to really create that strong foundation. Do you think this will be enough to create a strong foundation and achieve an excellent standard?

    • #4203
      Adriana James
      Keymaster

You don’t have to teach hypnosis.
And I am not sure how Luke is teaching nowadays.

But think of it. To teach only the NLP part, with pre-study you need about 5 days. And it’s tight. You cannot reload any exercises, because you don’t have time. It’s REALLY tight. I know out of experience.
For example, sometimes students have trouble with the MetaModel exercise, or the reframing exercise and you run late.
Sometimes the parts integration exercise runs really late, or even requires a reload. Oops!
The. If you allow yourself only 5 days, the only thing you can do is to cut out material. Which is not good.

Then if you add TLT on top of that, you need at least one day and a half to be able to teach all the techniques and have your students actually understand TLT and use it well.
In our trainings, Hyonosis is starting in the late afternoon of day 6 and then day 7.

So even if we have done this training In 7 days for 20 years now, and we have a lot of experience, we have not find a way to shorten it further. As I said, it’s a lot of material, a lot of exercises, and the possibility for reloads. Then you have to make sure you have some time for Q&A.
If you don’t people will be left with holes in their understanding and they will do very little with what they learned. They could also end up having a wrong idea of what is involved in an NLP practitioner and most importantly an TLT or practitioner.

It is a fine line between speed of delivery, and results. Between making a business and making money and quality of trainings.
There is a trainer in the US who teaches a 3 day Prac, a 3 day MP and a 3 days NLPTT. He is doing a good business. He’s making good money.
However, no respectable NLP organization will recognize him as legit. His name does not have a good reputation. The NLP world is small. And the word eventually goes around.

Ultimately it is up to you, I am giving you the middle line to think about.
You ar the decider of how to run your trainings.

I am always of the opinion that th best route to take is somewhere between long trainings which are harder to market (12 days to 14 days) as people do not have the availability of time, and the very short versions which unfortunately leave the people with a modicum of knowledge which is incomplete and the trainer in a poor market position.
Are there exceptions to this rule? Are people who make the most even if they’re start with incomplete info? Sure there are ! You are an example of those people. You took what you learned, and strived to perfect your knowledge and understanding to the point out where you are now a trainer.

But most poeople will not take this path. And that’s a shame. I feel like we don’t serve them well if we don’t give them the whole content and do our best to have them practice enough and take it and use it.

      These are my thoughts.
As I said you can come up with more pre-training sessions – for example – which you can do online with them, and post-training homework which will ensure the 130 hours. This will not lengthen your training days, but it will complete the necessary “ingredients for a well made pie”.

      Thanks Adriana

I think I will extend the training to my initial 7 days then, I want my students to have the best start possible.

Thanks for your thoughts, I love the forum, to be able to share our ideas and thoughts in a place like this, to create the perfect recipe for our own business. Thanks for that.

      You’re very welcome.
This forum is an open platform. It is for you and all the other fellow trainers around the world.
If you see other trainers share something that worked you can try it as well and see if it works for your market place. That’s the beauty of it.
Many good minds can come up with great ideas and everyone can benefit.
If we share our thoughts and ideas we can all – in our own niches – make a successful business and contribute in reality not only in words to affecting positive change. See Marc’s answer to Vasso under “Success Stories Forum”

        Natalie! Nice!
        So organized 🙂

In order to hit and/or surpass your revenue goal make sure you know how many students to focus on enrolling per Prac at the price point that you’re offering. I know this probably goes without saying, however you were specific about how many Master Prac students you wanted just not specific about how many Practitioner students.

You can do it!! You got this!

        Thank you Laura!

I wasn’t very clear in my post so I will clarify for my own mind, my goal is 10 or more students in each practitioner training (we do 4 a year, so 40 students or more) plus 10 or more in Master practitioner! Once that is achieved, I will actually produce $65,000 more than my target of $150,000! Thank you for the reminder, sometimes it is good to see it in writing! 🙂

        Boom! That’s right Natalie!

It’s good to see that because now that you have an additional $65K on the books, with taxes and expenses you can have $150K+ as take home 🙂

You can then get that fancy car you’ve been looking at or enjoy an excursion abroad…or whatever else your heart desires as a reward for your great efforts and world-transformation.

        Linda,

Beautiful work here. Very well explained and thought out.

A minor suggestion….and your values and what’s important to you is perfect, so reject anything that doesn’t sound right to you…I personally would reevaluate the placement of Results.
I’ve been in a place where (over the years in the field) I have moved Results up closer to Financial Rewards….just based on past experiences, and it worked nicely in business.
Happy Clients with fantastic Results has a close relationship to a Happy Coach/Trainer with great Financial Rewards.

        Again…just a suggestion.

You really got after these projects!!! Truly magnificent!

        Hey Linda,

Concurring with Laura’s replay, your results value on position No. 8 makes no difference.
We know that the first 6 values are actually those that have an impact on motivation. After that, it is pretty much irrelevant to your goals here.
Therefore if you want results, that value should be in position 2 or 3.

Looking at your values, there are several observations I can make which hopefully will elucidate why you’re having problems with enrolling people in your training, why you’re having problems with defining your niche, etc.

        1. First of all, looking at your values, you’re torn between expressive and sacrificial types of values which denotes a transition from sacrificial to expressive. Speaking about results, in THIS context (training business development and growth) this value is significantly “others” oriented. It has to be YOU oriented. Your business is YOU, even if the greater purpose for which you do it is to help others.
So it’s a matter of chunking. At the highest level, yes, this is as much for you personally as it is for others. Notice that there is no meVS others, but Me AND others. As you come down on the hierarchy of ideas chunking level, and get more specific (as we are here in this context), in order to assist and help others, from one person to community, etc., you start with you. Which means more locus of decision inside you, which means more expressive self-oriented values.
I am not talking here about selfishness or narcissism. That’s the unconscious expression – I am talking about a healthy and successful self (YOUR business) in otrder to help others.
So if you scroll up, I posted a while ago a set of suggestive values including results for your consideration. Read through the thread from the top. You will find many insights in the examples given by other fellow master trainer candidates and my responses to them.

        2. Second. Your first value seems to be misplaced in the context of your training business. “Personal and spiritual expansion and advancement (teaching, coaching, researching, writing)” belongs more in the category of personal development than career/business. So, it’s a good value, just misplaced in the wrong context. If you’re motivated by personal and spiritual expansion you will do things which will provide this for you, which is reading books, taking more trainings and seminars, meditation, other spiritual practices which are good, but do not support the development of the nitty-gritty earth connected, physical action necessary for the sales/marketing/PR etc. Training business requires far less phylosophical and far more down to earth bolts and nuts type of actions.

        3. Values 2, 3 are ok. But I don’t see sales anywhere in the hierarchy and you were saying that you cannot “convince” people that what you have to offer is good for them. That’s called sales and closing. I remember you and I having this conversation in the past. Unfortunately, Linda there is no way around it. You have to bite the bucket and do it. The 5 Step Process is paramount. Which means that every conversation you have with anybody who is a potential client, has to follow this process. Which also means that you know all the time where are you in the process. Are you at step one, building rapport, are you at step two, finding a need, etc. I posted a very specific explanation of this as well in a forum (don’t remember where of the top of my head now but it’s there) and surely Laura and I will address this issue again in th next webinar.

You need to really understand where is your neurology at this point. Then you can work to speed up the advancement throng values levels. Based on what your values are now, you’re struggling to get room VL4-6 and move into 5.
I know you know that 5 is far more pragmatic. Yes, business is based on numbers, percentages, and is very pragmatic. So as you progress you’ll be less idealistic and more “down to earth” IN THIS CONTEXT. I am not talking about other areas of your life. We are keeping it contextualized very carefully.

This does not mean that your VL 6 values will disappear, not at all. But you will gain more “solidity” in your actions.
The way to insure that happens, is exactly what you’re doing right now. Go through all the projects and face the difficulties in accomplishing them. That very process, dealing with the frustrations and not knowing how to proceed, trying different strategies until you find what works specifically for you (like your niche, failing a few times and picking yourself up and keeping going, making mistakes and learning from them…. Etc, all these are part of the transition of values, and at the same time, the development of your training business. Every successful small business owner ha gone through these, and is going through these on a regular basis. Of course, the more you do it, the better you become and finding the solutions necessary, and that’s a process of learning,
So, paradoxically, even if very “nuts and bolts”, the business development helps your personal development in a roundabout way. But it does!!!

        4. This is just an observation. The training business requires a lot of work. Any small business require a lot of work. So when you say in value no. 6 “every day is a vacation” make sure you recognize that if you look at it as your passion, then the hard work won’t feel like hard work, yet, I promise you, it’s anything but vacation. ?

I hope this helps you a litte to clarify certain things.

Thanks you Laurie and Bogdan, so far I haven’t had much expenses, I was offered a venue (class room) by my friend. I only spend a couple of hundred dollars on stationeries. Soon perhaps I will spend more on adverting and a more professional looking website…. Marketing & Sales start to come up to the top of the list.

I would love to hear other members about their expenses, maybe I am just stingy:-)

Personally as a rule, I make the deposit for my coaching services & events the money I’ll need upfront for Taxes, Office Space Rental(daily/weekly), Printing Costs, Name Tags, Markers, Flip Chart Paper, Certificate Paper, Coffee/Tea/Stevia, etc; I keep it in a separate account that I’ll never look at as income….learnings from the past and April 15th in the US marks the anniversary of the hardest lessons I’ve had to learn in business 🙂 LOL ~ (can I get an ‘Amen’ by my Americans!!!??). For Coaching I actually take more upfront for my time during the tasking process…the deposit is non-refundable because so is my time :)…. another learning from the past.

There’s no need to be stingy or wasteful with money. I always think: what will make this the most comfortable hospitable experience for my client and for me…and how can I do it with the most amount of discounts!!? And how can Uncle Sam get paid, and paid on time LOL (sorry tax season still stings)

The Key: if and when you do repeat business with the same vendors for printing/signage/binders/name tags and with the same Hotel if you make that relationship as valuable for them as it is for you, you’ll notice you will cut your costs and have better service than anyone else NOT willing to build good relationships.

And Adriana, thank you so much for your kind & detailed feedback and advices, you are spot on. I admire your sharpness & sense acuity:-).

I am exactly in the transition from sacrificial to expressive. Perhaps from VL2-3-4 & Fake 6 to a real VL5, I was for too long living on my property investments gain. Now, profits, nitty-gritty earth connected, physical action necessary for the sales/marketing/PR become the most important thing for me, especially after I set up business goal in project 1, thank you so much for putting on this project, I finally got to really take this seriously, and it means I am also taking my life as seriously as ever:-). And I am ready to bite the bucket and do it (nicely put).

Thank your for reminding me about the 5 steps, I am all for it now. I realise selling is the greatest skill we can have as a business owner, I was resisting it for quite a while, but now I am ready. I believe I will transit successfully by taking SMART actions, this will definitely benefit my personal and spiritual advancement. Now I realise why Tad says “Selling is Spiritual.”. I am truely grateful for your guidance.

And thanks Laurie in relation to the ranking of Result, I believe the better Result I get for people, the more I can up-sell to them, I am enhancing my compatibility and confidence through teaching & coaching, although still a bit nervous, but I am so passionate in getting results for people. I will read through the previous posts and redo my Values ranking.

This has a good V-K for me looking at your values now!
Especially since you added relationship building to your top value in Profitability.

I personally have Relationships in the context of business, ongoing prospecting, sales, coaching, colleagues, vendors as my number 1 value.
This is the difference that makes the difference in an ongoing business relationship with someone you want to do REPEAT business with.
It’s unconscious, but it’s inevitable, a client will either feel that you want the relationship with the agenda to make a sale/profit or that you want a good mutually beneficial relationship and the sale/profit is the natural side effect of the amazing value that relationship brings.
It’s just the mindset and intention and it makes a difference 🙂

        Love it, Linda!

I attempted this project about 10-15 times. Each time I wouldn’t be able to get rid of all the away froms, and by the next time I attempted to do the project, brand new away froms would have appeared to replace the ones I had gotten rid of the last time. So I was on a treadmill. As per Adriana’s analogy about skiing in her Zoom Webinar #6 writeup, my butt was sore from all the falls.

Today I decided enough was enough, and I finished it. So here are my “Results.”

      Business Goals:

I will be doing NLP part time this year in tandem with my family business, so being somewhat conservative with my goals.

      1. By the end of 2019, I have successfully completed at least: 1 Practitioner (NLP, TLT(R), Hypnosis, and NLP Coaching) training with at least 10 students @ >= $3,800/seat, and 1 Master Practitioner with at least 5 students @ >= 4,800/seat.
      2. By the end of 2019, I have successfully completed at least 10 x 6-10 hour breakthrough coaching sessions with clients @ >= $350 per hour. 1 down, 9 to go!

      Business Values:

My values also reflect my working toward synergy between my family oil business, my technology business (in prototyping stages), and my NLP business. I really want to be a serial entrepreneur that builds and invests in companies that create the kind of physical world we want to live in, while also coaching and training people on the mental/emotional/spiritual planes. My great challenge in life is managing my time so I can do all of that. I don’t want OR I want AND. And I can 🙂

      1. Prosperity (money, human prosperity, family prosperity, environmental/planetary prosperity, doing/being/having what I want, freedom, success)
      2. Results (sales, profitability, marketing, closing, enrollments, rollovers, that “ka-ching, ka-ching” sound, lives transformed, apps/features deployed, investors committed [for family business], ecstatic clients/students/customers)
      3. Fun (creativity, discovery, exploration, laughter, collaboration, dreaming, brainstorming, playfulness, possibilities, imagination)
      4. Creativity (technology, innovation, genius, learning, discovery, creation)
      5. Growth (learning, evolving, expansion, growing the business, continuous improvement, increased sales and profitability, progress)
      6. Harmony (alignment, collaboration, synergy, holistic, comprehensive, cooperation, in sync with the laws of the universe)
      7. Transform the Planet (helping people, changing the world, making the world a better place, transforming lives, healing the environment and the Planet, healing all life forms)
      8. Realistic (concrete, tangible results, grounded, achieving SMART goals and milestones, transforming ideas into physical reality)

It feels great! 🙂 It just came down to asking myself… do I want results, or do I want not results? Because clearly I’m very good at BSing myself if I choose to do that, so I have achieved excellence in binds. Done… check it off the list. So imagine the actual results I can produce when I focus all that time, energy, and imagination on creating what I want instead…

And I love skiing btw. And actually an interesting story that is definitely not a metaphor…

The first time I went water skiing, my friend told me that people usually have a really hard time getting up out of the water when they first start water skiing. Well I told myself, I’m not like those other people, and I’m going to get up right away. So I began to visualize and imagine the feeling of water skiing before I ever got in the water. I imagined the resistance on my legs and the speed and the feeling of the skis. Each time I visualized it, I experienced different pitfalls of getting off balance, swallowing water, etc. And each time I did a mental trial run, I improved. So when the moment of truth came and I was in the water with the skis and the boat started to pull away, POP… I popped out of the water right away and away I went.

People usually say the same thing about snowboarding… that you spend most of the first day on your butt. Well again, I said, that’s not me. And I decided to model my water skiing experience by visualizing and feeling the feelings of snowboarding in advance. I imagined the balance on the board and the feeling of the edges. I imagined turning, bending at the knees, and keeping my weight not too far forward and not too far backward. I felt the feelings of imbalance when I would tip too far in either direction, and how to recover my balance. I imagined how to fall and how to recover from a fall. And once again, by the time I hit the mountain, I had enough “experience” that I had a pretty smooth day and only fell a handful of times the whole day.

After squirming and avoidance, I’ve found this process to be revitalizing to say the least. Putting it all down somehow has created greater self-accountability. I’m sharing here and welcome any feedback. Thank you for making this available! On to 1.a and 1.b

      1 Year Goal:
It’s April 30, 2020. I have now completed 3 NLP Trainings to date, and have 3 slated for the remainder of 2020, including my first Master Prac Training. In the past year I’ve earned over $120,000 dollars through my trainings and coaching. In addition to in-person breakthrough coaching, I offer an online coaching program that allows me to deliver tremendous value and gets results with every client. Each offering is meaningful and congruent with my values and desires allowing me to enjoy life, family and recreation with less demand for time input. I also have a clear branding and marketing strategy running consistently building my online presence with visibility, and real-regular actionable value for prospects.
I have a minimum of 3 in-person coaching per month, averaging $5,000 per engagement. The online program generates $3000 per individual and serves up to 10 individuals per month.

This one year goal is a direct support of spending more quality time with my family. The business structure allows me to primarily work from my home office, while giving talks and running trainings in concentrated batches throughout the year. Because the core theme is to spread self-empowerment, knowledge and congruent values in action, the business generates real legacy. This cannot not only impact my family, but everyone who comes into contact with the coaching or training, and in this way is actively making a lasting contribution to the greater community, environment and realm.
While the larger goals are not listed here, there is an element of empowering younger people with innovation in thinking and learning, emotional intelligence or literacy through play and creativity. Children are ‘closer’ to the events that may be negative forces in their lives, yet generally have much greater adaptability in recreating their personality and experience + learning from the past – and are set up developmentally to create ideal futures in adolescent years. My 10 year goal is to build a community center for youth, The Analog Center for Creative Potential

Very thorough and considering all that you have going on in life too!
        Impressive!!

Your values look great to me as well….and I know more info about you since we speak often. Your top 5 values will get you the results you’re looking for in your goals; values 6-9 on your hierarchy are actually covered/absorbed in your top 5 values anyway just based on what you and I have talked about in the past. I’d normally give feedback about having a long list of business values but when you have results as a number 1 value….it pushes you to do whatever it takes to structurally to allow you to deliver on that. And your top 4 values are almost identical to mine…so maybe I’m not the best person to give you feedback LOL 🙂

Good to see your presence and activity here!!

        Thank you Laura!
I must have changed my settings to not receive auto updates.
Really though, it’s all about results for my clients right now, and my coaching practice.
I allowed myself into some magical thinking for a stint, but have more clarity now, (including from your support) about what you said: The only thing you can’t fake is preparation. So preparation then is every day doing real actions to have me ready for the next talk, and my first training, as well as my next breakthrough client and my next opportunity in a sales conversation.

        Onward.

Ummm, can I say? “Right on!!!!”

Your magical thinking is always developing anyway because that’s who you are, Jefferson.
Plus, the more you create and develop the content of what you’re about ready to deliver, the more you start developing your magical talk tracks and sales presentations so that you can “link the need to value” of an actual valuable product that’s practically ready to deliver as soon as that person says, “h3ll yes!!!”

so many fantastic replies! All of you are amazing.

Well, this is an apt project. We have clarified our business values and here they are:

Results: to us this means coming from strategy, sales, us, our graduates, and the multi chain effects eg interactions within and outside our business. we look at it like it is 3D – imagine a sphere and the connections and the ability of the sphere to roll with change

Flexibility – in us and in change

Focus – on the business and all within and out

Growth – this is personal and professional

people – us and all we interact with professionally and ecologically

        Gina 🙂

Great job having the discipline to come back to this project!!!!
      Feels good, right?!?!

I like your top 5 values!

I would like to make a suggestion as I point your attention to the second value: Flexibility.
After Results, and possibly before Flexibility, it may be important for you to insert something about income/profitability (cash money)….
You can take this with a grain of salt or…
Let’s just suppose your desire to be flexible comes before your desire to make a profit (in order of importance in business)…this may be a slippery slope for how flexible you’ll be with your prices.
Not saying this will happen however most people, when flexible with their prices are flexible to their own demise….making “deals” and “discounting” but all just fancy ways of reframing the DE-valuing of your trainings or services.

Let’s suppose you have Results – Profitability – Flexibility you would maintain a good boundary structure for making a profit yet having flexibility within these boundaries as financial options for your students.

This is just an example. I hope this makes sense.

Thanks for your support at Master PRac Sydney 2019!!!! 🙂

Thank you so much for the feedback!

I can see where you are coming from. I will think about that in the values.

results to me includes profitability, so I will think about it. I think I have a cluster of values related to results….

        thanks so

Gen!!! Welcome and Happy New Year!!! Thank you for your thorough participation!!
Everything looks great, what I’ll do here is pinpoint 2 things that stuck out to me.

Short terms goals for 2020 – Build reputation as practitioner, coach and trainer, that looks beautiful!! Suggestion: for the point of least effort, book as many speaking opportunities as possible; if you don’t know where to start look at Amy Curran’s video in the Zoom tab about using Meetup then watch Fabian Tejada’s next. When you present anything that showcases NLP/TLT, you’re building your rep as a presenter and Coach~ remember to leave an opening for a sales presentation selling your Prac first, then drop down to selling your coaching packages, and possibly selling an all-inclusive-breakthrough package with your Practitioner training and Coaching packages combined. I will have a young woman talk soon on video about how she made six figures in NLP by just networking and presenting….this will give you lots of coaching opps and bookings to your Prac trainings….if you look for coaching opps first you hit less birds with your stones 😉

      My values relating to my business goals are as follows;

      Leadership
      Self awareness
      Stability
      Independence
      Conviction
      Timeliness

Ask yourself, will these values (above) help me undeniably get all of my business goals?

You have a LOT of sales goals in your above plan, which makes me smile big, but I look at your values and I wonder if those would motivate me to find/inspire/sell/close students and clients into my coaching and training packages.
What in those values would motivate me to make sure I had bums in seats at my events?
What in my values would motivate me to present, accept, and receive a valuable exchange (money/compensation) for my talents/services/trainings?

I want to guide you…not give you the answers; personally my Values to reflect business goals like yours would look much different.
Have a look from this perspective see if anything changes, see if some of these values/qualities can be place in a broader Value so that they’ll still be there and so will others.
Write some other values that you think may reflect some other good business values.

      Good afternoon Laura

I realised that I had elicited my business values as I would like them to be in the future, not as they are right now at this start up phase of the business.

I completed the values elicitation on Friday with a colleague and the values settled at

      Results – client
      Belonging – peers and network
      Security – financial
      Credibility
      Determination
      Certainty
      Sustainability
      Growth

      Many thanks

May I add some much warranted selfishness for you #1 value?

        results – clients and self

The intentions and outcomes you set for you and your business and your prosperity have to come first because the moment you step into a business meeting, a Prac, a client’s coaching session all your focus will go onto them. You will never give less than 100% for them, right? It’s not in your nature.
So here and in goal setting for results in your trainings/business is the time to focus on you, and what you want for your business so you can continue to give 100% excellent service to your clients.
Having results in sales for your business is just as important as your clients having results from your services.

All this to say, it’s ok to have selfish looking Values when you give so much and you know your nature is to give so much to others. If you don’t focus on your business in this context, then where?

thank you for taking the time to do this and post!!

      100%!

      You are absolutely right Laura.

I guess I am looking in the context of: when I get the results for the clients (which is guaranteed!) the natural flow on effect will be referrals and sales, hence getting the results that I want for the business.

I will absolutely include self in there.

      Results – client and self!
      Belonging – peers and network
      Security – financial
      Credibility
      Determination
      Certainty
      Sustainability
      Growth

      It is done!

      Many, many thanks

Hi all, I’m looking forward to being a part of these projects and the challenge it will bring to ensure I improve. When I left TT in November my goal was to take action and deliver NLP Prac. Mission accomplished last week. It was soooooo much better than I envisaged. Now I want to do more. The Parts experience and TLT demo gave me even more certainty that I want to teach NLP, Time Line Therapy (r) and Hypnosis so that others can “fish for themselves”.

As I have developed my first draft of my broad business plan it has raised a BIG question for me. Can I market an NLP certification course around personal change? My market sounding from other NLP practitioners and trainers has been that you need to “get people in the room” and then they will experience the changes (that they may not realise they need) as opposed selling them into the room on that basis? At this stage I have taken the view that “yes” I can and hence the below but open to other’s thoughts on this? So the questions / assumptions to be tested

      – Does getting an NLP certificate achieve the goals / mission I have set? Does it lend better to “breakthrough” type weekends? How can I ensure they allign.
      – Am I confusing my coaching outcomes with my training outcomes? I want to teach people to fish for themselves rather than just feed them
      – Would I be better marketing to more “traditional” markets who don’t realise they “need” NLP until they have experienced it at NLP Prac.

      STRATEGIC PLAN

      MY PAST

Preparing – Getting required qualifications and some practical experience (coaching)
Uncertainty – Hiding behind study and holding myself back
Knowledge vs Business – Focus on my skills and not on business

      TODAY

Taken Action – Delivered first NLP Prac (whoop whoop)
Confidence – I have confidence and certainty in my NLP prac teaching skills
Business – Now I will focus on business and marketing
Long Game – Prepared to start small and grow. I have a Full Time job and I am patient.
Flexible – Ready to learn lessons and be adaptable
Building Practical Experience – I have the skills I need. Now is about building on that knowledge and developing the practical experience
Value & Quality – Focus on delivering quality and adding massive value.

My market sounding from other NLP practitioners and trainers has been that you need to “get people in the room” and then they will experience the changes (that they may not realise they need) as opposed selling them into the room on that basis?”

If your audience is the general public you will have about 80% of people there who enroll just for the personal change aspect, then the same 80% will gain confidence in themselves and then tell you they want to help other people as a certified coach and Practitioner at some point during the training or once they’re going through the prestudy. They may have always had that intention but not the belief in themselves yet to even tell you or claim it as a goal on your sales call. then about 20% will be there for a very specific reason to learn sales, get certified, learn for the sake of helping others, etc…. but overall everyone in the room no matter what conscious reason they choose will experience personal change and get certified as side effects of your training (that’s a talk track I use that makes people laugh). So whatever reason they say they want to go, as long as you know you can deliver that through your training, is reason enough for them to attend, no matter what YOU call it.

        – “Am I confusing my coaching outcomes with my training outcomes? I want to teach people to fish for themselves rather than just feed them”

Even if you decided to do only trainings and zero coaching you could guarantee (if you model how TJC does their entire training/coaching/coaching assistant process and content) that you can teach the people to fish.
the question is are you selling this to people who want empowerment model training? are you setting the frames and managing their expectations for the training? are you coaching them to take responsibility of getting every dime of value from this training by way of personal power? to do every exercise at 100%, to write a list of all the limitations they want eradicated by the end of the 7 days and they make that commitment to themselves and stick to it!

you’re not confused with your outcomes- this is what TJC does for the last 38 years if you’re doing what we taught you, you can absolutely guarantee that’s what you’ll be teaching.

    • #7801

      Hi everyone,
Happy Saturday! Strangely I posted this a few days ago but it’s not appearing anymore so giving it a second go!
I have pulled together the plans for the NLP side of my business. I am also a contract corporate trainer and will be doing that alongside, roughly 4-11 days of a month would be dedicated to that so the split of time is anywhere from 75% – 50% of my time for my own training.

Taking March/ April as a time to really do a lot of the leg work for my own business and gear up to my first NLP Prac which has been postponed (was 1st April) to now 5th – 12th July. I intend to get on with running the 2 day weekends starting May to generate some business!

Would welcome any feedback on what I have captured as always 🙂 Thank you in advance and have a lovely weekend!

This is brilliant, well-thought out, detailed and makes sense to create what you want.

Thank you for calling yourself out on the away-from in your #1 value and doing the work necessary to clean it up.

I see your plan is calling for several Intro and Speaking opportunities to feed your Practitioners which is a fantastic idea.

Since you have posted have you considered any events that you can do live now via zoom (or other platform) to feed your Pracs?
If so, please feel free to post and/or get started on delivering them now while people are home, bored, and looking for ways to empower their thinking 🙂

      Hey everybody,

In terms of eliciting business values, do we have to do this with a coach or can we do it ourselves?

      Thank y’all.

You can do it yourself if:
        1. You do it as values are now not as you wish them to be (tip – do it fast, first things that come to mind)
        2. Don’t analyze them, don’t think wether they are good/bad, /appropriate, etc…
just elicit them, write them down, put them in order and only after that analyze them just as you would do for another person.

So the answer is yes, you can do it yourself IF you can step out of being you. In other words, IF you can be the coach and the client at the same time

Legally if the count of words and the name are virtually the same we need to object.
      Soon
Please change the name of that seminar into something else.
      The rest looks good.
      Good luck ?

        Hi Kripa

Ahh project No:1 is such a good project to start with and good on you for working through Project No:1 🙂 These projects are certainly designed to help us have and enjoy successful businesses.

I like your business goal and I get it. Have you used the Keys to An Achievable Outcome (I think page 10 of Practitioner manual) to develop your business goal? The beauty of the Keys to an Achievable Outcome is that the process will definitely help you get crystal clear on the goal. Remember the first question is about specificity. In my experience (and I have seriously experimented with this), the broadness of a goal can sometimes be so chunked up, I wonder how it will be achieved. Remember also when you learned how to insert a goal in the future, one element of a successful S.M.A.R.T. goal is specificity. The financial goal – is that specific for you?

Great that you are being a CA at the TJC trainings!! You will love it!! It’s a fantastic experience and I can say that Glen and I have met many wonderful coaches and learned so much about the workings of excellent trainings. We have seen students making incredible change within and going into their future magically.

I’m just reading through what you will be doing…. suggestion – go back to your business plan and get very clear on what you are doing and when – is it in one week? One month? 9 months? what will you do and when and what is the outcome that you will get at each step? This leads you to achieving your BIG business goal. Another tip….what is your 5 year business goal? Because your business is like a living thing – what you breathe into it, what you do to resource it, what you do to love it etc, will make a big difference. I give you an example – people I meet, ask me what I do for a job – I say, I don’t have a job, I have a business that is my global purpose etc etc…. Yes, we work on the business and IN the business and this requires flexibility etc. I hope this helps 🙂

Your Business Values – good start. I recommend you read Adriana’s reply to Annie July 9, 2018 at 4:06 pm. Where is MONEY in your values? You are a business owner – what happened to money. Review the VL5 of the Values section of Master Prac. Have a go at this one again and I will read for you.

I’m curious about the Tarot Trainings. Is this part of your NLP trainings? Are you using this to springboard into your NLP trainings? What is the relationship between Tarot Trainings and your other trainings? Just curious.

Now, what training leads into the next training and so on – this will influence the scheduling, the sales/marketing etc. When you prepare your business plan, consider what trainings will feed to the next – and what numbers will you have at your trainings and what % rollovers do you want?

I truly hope this helps you so that come week one of April, your business plan is such a well prepared vehicle that you are even happier! Remember one of the great resources from VL4 are planning, structure and systems – super useful for VL5 🙂 I know you do amazing work in the corporate world and have so many resources to bring to your business.

Am very much looking forward to your response…

        Go well! Gina 🙂

        Hi Caterina

I can see you have been busy with posts – good on you!!

Am reading through what you have shared and thank you for sharing 🙂 I see you are planning on doing APEP 1 this year! YAYYYY! Good on you! You will love it 🙂

Have you used the Keys to An Achievable Outcome (see page 10 of your Prac Manual) to help you with your business goal – this will help you get specific. What specifically do you want? The goal as it is at the moment sounds lovely – is it specific? Does this goal help you connect with your niche market?

Do you have your business plan from TT? I used my business plan to map out what, HOW and when I was doing what I wanted to do to meet my goal.

As an example: x number of 3 day hypnosis trainings with X rollovers to Practitioner. Schedule the 3 day hypnosis trainings and then schedule the practitioner training and so on. The smaller trainings are good feeders to the practitioner and so on. I actually drew a diagram to look at the what, HOW and when so I could review timings and preparations needed. And when you say market well – what specifically do you want to say and do?

I read through your values – I am curious…. will certainty give you growth? Will growth give you influence? When you use the values elicitation steps you will find that the steps will help you with the hierarchy. Just do a check with yourself… And if you have used the 3 methods of values elicitation, please don’t look at what I suggest you do. You are a Master Coach and super capable 🙂

Any questions, please do give me a holler via the Forum…

Keep going well and am looking forward to seeing you in the forum and at TJC trainings 🙂
        Gina 🙂

        Hi Showleh

Good on you! So good to see you here and redoing this project is fantastic! You are really proving just how valuable focus and commitment are to your future!

Thank you – it is all of us encouraging each other that will take us further! I really enjoyed hearing all about your business during our Zoom meeting! And I got to come to your home in California!

What I really admire is that you are taking action and really working through Project #1 thoroughly! As you continue working through the projects you will just keep strengthening everything you do!

Here is some feedback so you can supercharge your success – I know you really want that 🙂

Goals. When you say over deliver, do you mean you want to provide an exceptional client experience journey?
When you say start Google advertising in Irvine – what would it be like if you complete the first stage of Google advertising?

        Values:
You have compensation/financial freedom in 4th place in your hierarchy. To maximise success, think about what will happen when you shift your value for money to at least 2nd place – feel the energy and drive this will give you and your business and the success.

Great work and keep going!! Love that you are so focused and thorough!!

        Gina 🙂

      1. What is your realistic business goal?
      a. My goal for 2021 is to complete 4 trainings with at least 7-10 students each training by December 1st, 2021, and to have my January Practitioner and February Master Practitioner training already filled by that time as well.
      b. By January 1, 2022 – I plan to have my Master Practitioner training with at least 5-10 students in the training
      c. Between trainings, I will maintain at least 5 one on one clients per month, and
      d. By July, 2022, I will be doing at least 1 corporate training per quarter training in eliminating raciscm and racial bias, and the effects of racism at the unconscious level for progressive companies.
      e. By January 30th 2022 – I will have hired at least 2 part time NLP practitioners into the company to take on some of the 1-1 consultation and corporate coaching work and programming so I can focus more on training.
      f. By July 2022, I am on track for $500K in revenue by the end of December 2022
      g. By July 2024, I am on track to hit $1,000,000 in revenue by the end of December 2024

Plan for the next 6 months:
      – Continue Running YT ads. Start FB, IG ads (funnel is already set up and ads are in place)
      – Continue connecting w/prospects on Linkedin
      – Continue running weekly rooms on Clubhouse & Co-moderating inside of other rooms
      – Continue weekly livestreams, podcast, and Reels that drive traffic to my evergreen webinar
      – Connect with local groups (mom community, professional community, networking groups) weekly to prospect for trainings – Starting June 1st
      – Hire full time Marketing Director to manage the marketing team (July 1st 2019)

      2. Then ask yourself, “Where do my business goals fit in the greater scheme of my family, community and all things on planet earth?”
Not only is this in line with my family values (it will give me flexibility to be there for my son in the ways that he needs me and the ways that I want to be there for him), it will also be a major contribution to the social justice and equality movement.

      2. Elicit and hierarchy your business values and make sure they support your goals.
      Integrity
      Contribution
      Flexibility
      Freedom
      Family
      Fun

Thank you so much Gina for the feedback, it is very valuable and Yes, you should come to California 🙂
By over delivering, I mean exactly what you said, it is for the client to have an exceptional experience journey
By Google advertising, I mean to have the budget so that I will keep a running ad and the parameters will be city of Irvine and 30 mile radius around Irvine. It is not beneficial to start and stop the ads, so I’d like to have at least a year budget in the bank before I give the green light to start the ad.
Very good catch on my values, I had not noticed that. I am moving it up to #2 value.

      Again thank you so much.

      Greetings!
I’m also answering question 1a as I wasn’t able to answer it inside the forum.

The ONE question that if I asked and answered it would take my NLP training to the next level.

What structures do I need to put in place in order to achieve such a level of intuitive knowing of this material that I could teach any technique any where at any time with a moment’s notice and have someone who has never heard of these techniques not only get it but be excited about it?

Each time I teach it I know I get it more and more deeply and get my students so excited, AND I would love to have the capacity to teach it without HAVING to look at my manual for specific wording (even though I’ll have it and follow it with each training).

Hi Maiysha, it is a very good question…and I feel we all have thought this through from when we get into this journey…

The work you are going as a healer is having positive impact on humanity… and the growth of knowledge in the area in which we work is taking hold…the growth in critical thinking, thinking for self, creative thinking, solutions, understanding what is within and so much more….

By training students and then they work in your organization, you are growing the network that will continue to impact positively… this is great!

Your focus on growing and leaving a legacy will continue to support transformation. Every person one person at a time and then their influence on others! it’s endless!

So to sum it up simply, if you were asked, what is your ultimate vision?

looking forward to reading more! Gina 🙂

Wow! Caterina, you have really been working on this project deeply! Good on you 🙂

I have a few questions to help with getting more specific… when you say corporates/small business – have you qualified your niche? Are you focusing on a specific group within corporate/small business? Do you want to be the authority in your niche?

Is your greater picture your vision/mission? When someone asks you your purpose, what will you tell them?

Your values have changed! You have been getting clear on this… Question – what is profitability to you?

Keep going! Really happy for you that you are doing these projects!! Good on you :), Gina 🙂
