Cristina, are you talking about a shift in values levels? If I understand your question correctly, this is what it means. To make a big shift in values, take it one by one. remember values levels change is connected to neurological changes. those do not happen overnight. so you cannot say, I moved through VL 6 in one night! That’s nonsense.
That being said, let’s say that your (a universal ‘you’ – i am not talking about you personally here) business values are nowhere near to anything suggested above in the business values example I gave you. In this case, you won’t change them all at once. It would turn your life upside down as those values are not supported by strategies…yet! Few people can sustain such a change. I am not saying it is not possible, but it will create a complete change in drive and motivation which has the potential to make you into a different person. Therefore you would start with changing one value at the time remembering that value No. 1 can be changed only after VERY CAREFUL consideration. DO NOT ALLOW YOUR STUDENTS TO CHANGE IT at the Master Practitioner level!!! However, you as trainers should have the thinking necessary to understand when that is possible and why, and when it is not.

Therefore, (and again this is only in the instance where your values are absolutely different from the ones suggested above) start with value No. 3, change it and wait for about 2 weeks. Notice if you’re motivated differently, if your behavior has changed and how. Then change value No. 2, wait for about 2 weeks. please do not get confused – this only in the case where none of your business values are in any form or shape similar to anything suggested.
Now, if your business values are similar, but in different order, than if course the situation is much easier, as you can switch them around (change the order in the hierarchy), cluster them differently and that can be done in one go. Even if one of your values is called differently, but when you elicit the CEq it means the same, then it’s ok. For example, some people call ‘efficiency’ time management, but in their minds it is = to efficiency. Then leave it as time management. It’s fine!

So in both instances, you actually start from bottom up (lower value to higher value). you don’t start with value #1 – but the other way around. No need to start with value NO 6 or 7….I mean, it’s OK, but it won’t make much difference. But starting from value #4, and 3 you can have massive difference in motivation. if you change them all at once and you make a massive shift, and something does awry, the you won’t know where is the culprit. of course, you can put your old values back, and solve the problem, but that’s not the point!

BE VERY CAREFUL WITH VALUE NO 1!!!!!!! LOTS OF ECOLOGY CHECK BEFORE YOU CHANGE THAT ONE PLEASE, and only after you changed all the others and life is OK and in balance.
