Thank you for sharing this Cristina!! I know we had a Coaching call on this topic and I would also like to address this in the next Zoom webinar on April 5th USA/ April 6th AU.
This experience, although it’s not anticipated by anyone who enrolls students into their training, is part of a VALUABLE feedback process!
Take it as feedback (as opposed to failure) when students ‘change their mind’ and it will become a growth experience for you, it is also an opportunity to build more value in the sales process. Use this as a coaching moment for your student. The student was most likely in a resourceful empowered state when they signed the agreement and paid for the course. Then yes, they may have gone home to an unsupportive environment (among other things) and forgot about the reasons why they enrolled or lost motivation because limitations surfaced and they went back into an unresourceful state. It’s not about what you did wrong…it’s about what you now have the opportunity to do for yourself and your student.
Here’s where you can be an exquisite coach and saleswoman. Get them on the phone, let them empty their cup, hear what limitations have surfaced since they’ve enrolled, reframe, then build value in your training by reminding them that all the limitations that have surfaced are just examples of what they’ll be able to release during your Practitioner training. Limitations that have limited them in the past, in other contexts of life.
This is exactly why they need to attend the training!
At this point you will realize that you wear many hats in your business: Trainer, Salesperson, Admin, Accounting, and Coach.
If this moment occurs ever with your students, the Coaching hat is great one to wear…coach them to successfully stay enrolled in the training because they want to be there, which is why they signed the document and paid money.
