Hi Cristina, each of the -if I remember correctly – 90some patterns exemplified in the Marketing NLP, ar examples of how language is used to direct the kind in a certain way. With your knowledge of presuppositions in natural language you can surely see how that would work. So as in your example, “silk shampoo”, here silk is a misplaced adjective. We know it is not silk but in our minds it conjures an image of soft and high quality. It is not necessarily so. In fact many shampoos that use that line are full of chemicals that are bad for you.
So how would you use this in a positive fashion for a training? By following the same process. For example “superbly crafted delivery”. Think of it! What does that really mean? I’ll tell you. Absolutely nothing. “Crafted” could be take as hand made and with much skill. Well, our trainings in a way are “hand made” as we spend hours figuring out what goes where and what is necessary in order for the students to perform really well, but the important thing in this context is the choice of words. “Superbly” is a superlative, “crafted” we discussed already, so the mind is left – even if only at the unconscious level – with the idea of a personalized delivery of extraordinary quality.
Now how would a “delivery” be hand made and with skill? Ok I get the “with skill” part, as you have learned in TT how to be very skillful on stage, but “hand made”? Nevertheless, you get the point.
This is what you should do for each of the patterns. Create examples of how to use the patterns in NLP for your business and services and post them in the forum. Hopefully you are not going to be the only one doing this, and so,you’ll all learn from each other and exchange ideas.
These linguistic patters are based on logical fallacies (which we discussed in the Hidden Magical Language training) and are used every day in PR and advertising, commercials, etc. They are just linguistic techniques. They can be used for directing the mind to accept certain presuppositions. Since they are used to sell us everything from chewing gum to space taxis, and are part of our culture, we need to learn how to use them for our advantage to sell our services and skills. This can be done knowing fully that you will deliver very high quality trainings and so the issue of integrity is taken care of – but the possible customers don’t know it. Therefore, learning how to apply on the fly these linguistic patterns will create the state you want in your potential customers, and therefore interest. This is why the exercises are so necessary. They increase your ability to sell your products, training sand services.
I hope this makes it clear.
