      hello everyone.
I am looking for suggestions in regards to tasking for a potential client. This person describes himself as ‘I don’t consider myself an alcoholic. I do drink twice a week to black out and then I am verbally abusive to my wife.’
I am planning following the full protocol starting with DPH and then Time Line Therapy(R), parts integration, hypnosis etc.
Again, suggestions for appropriate tasking would be helpful.

      Thanks,
      Karl

      Hey mate,

I would give them the task to write every piece of food and water and alcohol that goes in their system. Tedious, I know – but effective.

Do NOT see them if they’re not doing their task.

14 days I would say is appropriate but you know better. Hope this helps

      BB

      Hey Karl,

      How did the tasking go?

I’d be interested to know how the client would describe and alcoholic? because he may be using a misplaced measurement like the amount of drinks rather then the effect it is having on his consciousness and the behaviors that produces.

It’s likely the alcohol is serving some purpose for your client and id be curious in wanting to investigate whether or not there is any secondary gain.

You can do a great little written task for the client by firstly explaining what secondary gain is and then getting them to right down all the ways in which this behavior doesn’t serve or benefit him and then all the ways it does serve and benefit him despite the pain.

Would love to hear how you go.
